Hello everyone,
We are in the middle of a nice long winter hibernation up in Alaska.
It is -30 outside right now and there’s about three feet of fresh snow on the ground.
You will hear more from us very soon, but in the mean time The Red River Daytrotter session was just posted!
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Stay well,
Best,
Nelson

These Days #11
Wednesday, July 13th, 2011
Gang,
It surely has been quiet around here. You can hear the crickets chirping. Luckily, we’ve got the new These Days episode for you right now:
these days #11 from Mike Turner on Vimeo.
I hope everybody has been well, healthy, with friends and family. We’re in the process of building new families, relocating and going through all kinds of changes with our work and music. Brave is now distributed between Alaska, Oregon, California to Colorado to Wyoming to Virginia to New York and all the way to Ireland. Everything is divided, which makes for especially active phones, emails, mailboxes and twitter accounts. Can’t do the same things again and again, I guess, and that means we’ve got to say goodbye for periods. Somedays, I wish I could have it all at once.
Take care,
Darnel

These Days #10
Sunday, April 24th, 2011
Hello again,
We are in Portland now. Not for long. Here is the tenth These Days. We made it to the premier for this one, haven’t been to a TD premier since episode #6, I think. Kate, Allison, Alyssa, Clayton, and Mike Turner himself all turned out for this one. Ten of these things makes it an official series, if you ask me and if you’ve missed any episodes you can go here and see all ten.
Enjoy!

Livin’ Evita Loca
Wednesday, March 16th, 2011
Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello. I must apologize for the negative tone of my previous post here. You know how it gets sometimes. The burdens are crushing and I am moved to bitterness. Today, I wake up feeling… je ne sais quoi… I feel well. But the nicest thing happened right away: I heard a new song. It’s called The Pact, by The Red River. You can download the song for free at Bill’s blog. It is very beautiful. If you don’t have it yet, you can also buy their album here.

These Days #8
Monday, February 28th, 2011
Ya’ll,
The Red River are finishing up the last two months of touring this week in the northwest. Thinking about the concert that happened in Portland last night and I feel very far away. Things move along without me. What moves me along? Here’s episode eight of Mike Turner’s acclaimed reality soap opera These Days. This one is guest-directed by Dan Galunky the Funky. Feeling sentimental for my friends.

P.S. Brave is in Mexico still. Keeley is here with us and we are all working very hard on the new Old Believers joint. Jordan just left, she graciously helped us with some stuff too. We are about to enter what we’re calling March Madness. We’re cutting no corners, we’re going to do everything in our imaginations to make this the most enjoyable listening experience. I give ya’ll Darnel’s Magical Pledge, this thing will be lovely. Follow me on twitter. Nusu and Keelita.

Red River NW Tour Dates Announced
Wednesday, January 26th, 2011
Howdy ya’ll,
The Red River is now on the 2nd leg of their US tour, so if you live in the great South of America, check out our calendar and see if they’ll be making it to your town. If you live in the NW, you’re in luck because we’ve just added some dates up there which are as follows:
Feb. 27 – Portland, OR @ The Woods (early in-store performance at Music Millenium at 3pm)
Mar. 1 – Tacoma, WA @ Metronome Coffee
Mar. 2 – Seattle, WA @ The Sunset Tavern
Mar. 4 – Sacramento, CA @ Luigi’s Funhouse
Mar. 5 – San Francisco, CA @ Amnesia
We’ll should be filling in a few of those empty days with a few more shows, so be sure to check back. This will probably just be Bill singing songs, accompanied by Alyssa, Kate and Marleigh, who are not there to be lovely, but to sing beautifully as a special choir. Sounds like the only thing worth seeing to me. In Portland they’ll be playing with PDX’s sweethearts Wild Ones which could very well turn out to be their live debut, so you’re obviously not going to want to miss that. In the mean time, I was just emailed some photos from The Red River at their St. Louis recent St. Louis show. You can have a look at those below while you go to their Gift Basket and download their greatest hits from the last 5 years. Feel free to share! Or you can check out our new links page…
Enjoy!
psst! follow Brave, Nelson and Dhani on twitter…

South of the Border

Hola Amigos!
We’re writing from La Bufadora, Mexico , where we are recording the new Old Believers record! Pictures, stories, details and Old Believers news will be up shortly, but right now I want to tell you about some other cool things.
We put together a sort of “Best Of” collection of Red River material from their first three self released records and posted it HERE for free download. It includes the very first Red River song, “Black Out Of Oil City”, and a brand new one, “Eva”, you will dig it! Please feel free to share it with any one you’d like.
We’re making some New Year changes around here. At the end of the month we are going to be increasing the price of our digital stuff (just a little) and adding some international shipping costs to our physical. We hate to do it, but it’s gotta be done. We’re giving y’all a head start though, so go crazy!
The Red River is on a cross country tour right now! Dates are in our calendar section.
That’s all for now. Check back soon for the “The Adventures of the Baja Men”. Adios.

These Days #7
Sunday, January 2nd, 2011
Sorry for the delay, ya’ll. Here’s a special end of These 2010 Days. Happy New Year, where ever you are, my friends. What is your resolution? Send yours to contact@braverecs.com. I have a few resolutions: I will look for my biological grandfather, finish the OB record, write more stories and get a bunch of muscles like Nels.
